Harrison's deep, introspective soul churned out incredible music while with The Beatles, but beyond that period as well. Since George was the youngest member (and also most quiet) of the group, it was surprising to the other Fabs when he proved that he had an inner voice, not just a physical one. His keen wit & sense of humor, along with spiritual platform, led the Beatle to pen "Taxman," introduce the modern world of music to Indian influences and create the tradition of large music shows to benefit social crises.
I felt the need to chat about The Quiet Beatle on what would have been his 71st birthday. Chicago writer, Kit O'Toole, very graciously agreed to join me in a chat about George, where we'll discuss his modest upbringing, which led to a transformation into a rock star of herculean proportions. Kit is a contributing writer for numerous publications and it's a great honor to have her on the radio show. Check out her work here:

My Music Nugget of the Day:
I stumbled upon this video at www.georgeharrison.com. It's a clip of Dhani Harrison, George's son, along with Jeff Lynne (ELO) and it's their description of how they molded the last works of George Harrison into an album titled "Brainwashed," which was released about a year after George's death. It's absolutely touching....
