It's Time to Hit the Abbey Road

For the past eight years I've been attending Abbey Road on the River with my cherished loved ones and never have I been more ready to go than now! This festival has made so many memories for my girls & it is worth every hippie moment.
Surely my readers have gotten the memo on what this Beatle festival is really made of. It's 5 days of non-stop Beatle music, exquisitely performed by acts from all over the world who share their love of The Beatles in their most sincere ways. Never in all these years have we ever regretted spending time at this fest & I encourage you to breathe for a moment & take in some of the music.

Lanea, Andy Forgie (aka Mr. Kite from the band All You Need is Love), Abby & Annie (Andy wrote the foreword for Recipe Records-a Culinary Tribute to The Beatles)

It is this weekend May 22-26 in Louisville, Kentucky, at The Galt House Hotel/Belvedere Park/Muhammad Ali Center (downtown Louisville)
You can get more info about the band schedules & ticket prices at:   www.arotr.com

If you are there on Saturday...stop by & say hey at Regalo Gifts inside The Galt House. Jon, JD & Laura, owners of these spectacular shoppes, were the first merchants to take a chance on Recipe Records & I've been very grateful for their loyalty. *Check out their keen Beatles merchandise as well!!

I'll be signing books at Regalo Gifts inside The Galt House on Saturday, May 24  ~  2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Once you go to the festival, you quickly develop a roster of your favorite bands. My roster is quite large, but here are mentions of a few that have also made their way onto my radio show ;)

In my opinion, BritBeat is the most complete Beatles tribute band that you can ever see. I highly suggest that you take in their shows:

Fri. May 23 - 8:45 p.m. (fountain stage) "50th Anniversary of The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show
followed by their 9:15 p.m. performance of the "Psychedelic Set" (same stage)

Sat. May 24th - 6:30 p.m. (main/lawn stage)  BritBeat performs with two other popular Beatles Tribute Bands and solo artist collectively recreating classic touring years songs at Abbey Road On The River's new feature show called 19 and 64.

Sun. May 25th - 4:15 p.m. (fountain stage)  BritBeat performs a special 'Studio Era' concert featuring songs from The White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road.

I had the grand pleasure of speaking with BritBeat on my radio show a couple of years ago - here's the episode:
