Beatles At The Ridge

Walnut Ridge Airport
Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, is a small town that celebrates the Beatles event that occurred there in 1964 and it is a true celebration. The event is FREE, the parking is FREE and the memories are priceless. This event is near and dear to my heart, not just because it's about The Beatles, but because of the genuine intent of the citizens to conduct a festival that benefits the entire community. Through the hard work and vision of its mayor, Charles Snapp, this Beatles festival has received critical acclaim around the world, notably, it was named by USA Today as one of the best Beatles places to visit.
My descriptions of the festival would result in a Mark Lewisohn-type tome, so instead of filling the page with words, I'd like to share the Artists & Authors Symposium schedule and show you what you are in for this weekend! You can also hear Mayor Snapp and his sister, Carrie Mae, on an episode of Recipe Records Radio Show - link is below. Hope to see you at The Ridge!

Radio show:
Tune in to hear my interview from 2013 with Charles and Carrie Mae Snapp of Walnut Ridge:

Were The Beatles the Original Millennials?

That's a very interesting question to ponder. I will be taking a look at this thought at Willard Library on Monday, September 26, 6 pm - 8 pm. Join me for some delicious samples and to hear a comparison of the Fabs to our modern day millennials!
